           In 2020, Hepu County, Guangxi was selected into the list of the first batch of 55 pilot counties for water system connectivity and comprehensive improvement of rural water system funded by the central government published by the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Finance. In response to the general requirements of the Rural Revitalization Strategy and oriented by problems, Hepu County has built the county water system connectivity and comprehensive improvement project. The scope of governance involves the water system of the upper reaches of Zhoujiang River and its branches of Qingshui River and Qili River, of which objective is to restore the river function, improve the living environment, create a rural water system with beautiful landscape and ecological harmony, and build a river of happiness satisfactory to the people.

Build two ecological branches of Qili River and Qingshui River

Three sluices and two canals

Zhoujiang Diversion Sluice is newly built, Wuwupo Diversion Sluice and Wuwupo Diversion Canal Tail Flood Gate are demolished and reconstructed, Zhoujiang Diversion Canal is newly built, and Wuwupo Diversion Canal is repaired, which restores the connection between Nanliu River and Zhoujiang River through these measures.

Thousand-year-old Ancient City Site Demonstration Zone along the Maritime Silk Road in Dalang Village, the 1,000-mu Cowpea Demonstration Base Demonstration Zone in Zhoujiang Village, the Thousand-year-old Dragon Boat Folk Culture Demonstration Zone in Xiabaojia, the 1,000-mu Jinhua Tea Aroma Comprehensive Treatment Demonstration Zone in Qili Village and the 1,000-mu Water-Front Leisure Landscape Demonstration Zone in Jiangwu Village have been completed.
